The follow up to the MASSIVELY successful Metal Slug original, saw some rushed development leading to an unfortunate amount of slow-down. Regardless, the game itself was amazing and worthy of a play, even with the bad slow-down moments. So good was this game in fact, that it would be remade as Metal Slug X, with all the graphics re-styled with different lighting and colour schemes, and of course the slow-down issues fixed. Although the first Metal Slug game was made by Nazca Corporation in 1996, this former Irem development team was acquired by SNK during the making of Metal Slug 2. However true to form, the fun, humour and insane run-and-gun action of the first game carries over with a wide range of improvements and additions to the massively successful prequel. Metal Slug 2 adds a number of new weapons, vehicles, and now even transformations to mix up the action... and of course, everything is exquisitely animated in that beautiful neo-apocalyptic way we've all come to know and love from the ex-Irem team.
